Vets near Oklahoma City
Nine practices, every one of them read off its own website. The four below say on their own site that somebody's there overnight — two for dogs and cats, two for horses. Everything else on this page is daylight work and waits underneath it.
If it's an emergency, call before you drive.
“Open 24 hours a day 7 days a week”, and the animals they name are “dogs, cats, and a wide-variety of exotic animal species”.
24 HOURS · THEIR WORDS SOURCE · neel.vet“…open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with emergencies and urgent medical care for all pets”. And plainly: “VEG provides emergency vet care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and more.”

24 HOURS · EQUINE HOSPITALNO STREET ADDRESS ON THEIR SITEThey publish the town and the phone number and stop there, so that is all we print. Call and let them tell you where to pull the trailer in.
SOURCE · oakridgevet.com“Emergency Services available 24hrs/day — Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm / Saturday, Sunday: Emergencies Only”
24 HRS/DAY · EQUINE · FIELD SERVICEWHAT THE WEEKEND ISSaturday and Sunday are emergencies only by their own posting — routine work waits for Monday. The clinic also lists “Ambulatory & Field Services”, so they are in the farm-call lane below.

& mixed practice
In here because the practice's own website says it treats cattle, horses, sheep or goats. A clinic that only mentions dogs and cats is not in this lane no matter how good it is.
Runs a livestock side: the site lists “Cattle Processing”, “Consultation/Herd Health” and “Reproduction” under Livestock Services, and keeps an equine page that says “From corneal ulcers to colic treatment, we are to able provide necessary treatment for your animal.” No farm-call claim anywhere on it, so it sits in this lane and no other.
Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm

A mobile practice, and specific about it: “While we do see dogs and cats, we currently only offer mobile services for all large animals (i.e. equine, cattle, sheep, and goats).” One of only two in the ring whose own site names goats. No street address published — they come to you.

Mixed practice, “providing veterinary services for dogs, cats, cattle, horses and ruminants since 1992”. The large-animal side is “many large animal services, including preventive medicine, coggins, dentistry, herd healthcare and ambulatory services” — ambulatory is the farm call, so they are in that lane too.

Horses and nothing else, on purpose: “Dr. Richey is a mobile veterinarian so he can treat your horse in the comfort of their own environment. His practice is limited to horses.” If you have cattle or goats down, this is not your call.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm — AFTER-HOURS EMERGENCY CARE AVAILABLE UPON AVAILABILITY ONLY!

Equine hospital, and the one in this ring built for the bad night: “leaders in Equine Medicine and Surgery”, offering “expert care in all areas of equine medicine, lameness, respiratory surgery, sports medicine, orthopedics, emergency abdominal procedures and internal medicine cases”. No farm-call claim on the site — you haul in.
Mon 8:00am - 5:00pm / Tue 8:00am - 5:00pm / Wed 8:00am - 5:00pm / Thu 8:00am - 5:00pm / Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm / Sat 8:00am - 12:00pm / Sun Closed — Emergency care available 24 hours, 7 days a week

“a full-service equine hospital that offers routine medical care, assisted reproductive services, surgical care, as well as 24 hour emergency treatments”. Its own service list includes Ambulatory & Field Services, which is why it shows up in the farm-call lane as well as this one.

The widest species list in the ring: “In addition to equine care, we are equipped to treat cattle, swine, llamas, alpacas, chickens, and small ruminants.” Their specialty page puts farm calls in writing as well, which is why they show up in the farm-call lane below as well as this one.

The other half of the same errand
The vet is one number. The farms you're driving past are in the Almanac.
Tramel Farms keeps the sister book — the working farms, stands and homesteads on this same ring, from Edmond down through El Reno and out to Shawnee. Same rule about not making things up, different page. The farms near Oklahoma City keep this book honest: they're the ones who know which of these numbers gets answered at two in the morning.
SAME RING · SAME COUNTIES · DIFFERENT BOOK
The Oklahoma City ring on the Almanac ↗Poultry
& goats
The hardest lane to fill honestly. A practice is in here only if its own site names chickens, goats or both. “Exotics” alone does not count, “small ruminants” is not the word goats, and a photo of a hen is not a claim.
The one practice in this ring that writes the word out: mobile service “for all large animals (i.e. equine, cattle, sheep, and goats).” Goats and sheep, no birds — the site never mentions poultry.

Birds, in writing: “In addition to equine care, we are equipped to treat cattle, swine, llamas, alpacas, chickens, and small ruminants.” Chickens is a claim and we count it. Their phrase “small ruminants” probably covers your goats, and we are not going to say so on their behalf — ask when you call.

BIRDS AND GOATS BOTH — NONE
Two practices, and they split the lane down the middle: Copper Trail names goats and never mentions poultry, Shawnee names chickens and stops short of the word goats. Nobody in this ring has put both in writing. That is the whole finding — if you keep a mixed flock and a few does out toward Edmond, you're making two calls, and we're not going to blur that into one to make the page look fuller.
Farm call
They come to you, and their own site says so. Where the site puts a limit on it — an appointment-only rule, a mileage ring, a preference for hauling in — the limit is printed with the listing instead of being smoothed over.
Mobile is the whole practice for livestock: “we currently only offer mobile services for all large animals (i.e. equine, cattle, sheep, and goats).” The limit is on the front of their own site and it is a real one — the office runs two days a week and everything is booked ahead.

“many large animal services, including preventive medicine, coggins, dentistry, herd healthcare and ambulatory services” — ambulatory is the farm call, stated plainly and with no qualifier hung on it.

“Dr. Richey is a mobile veterinarian so he can treat your horse in the comfort of their own environment.” The after-hours line on the same page is honest about what it is, and it is a limit on emergencies rather than on the driving out, so it does not carry the qualified mark here — it is printed in the hours below the way he wrote it.

Their own service list carries Ambulatory & Field Services alongside Emergency, at “a full-service equine hospital that offers routine medical care, assisted reproductive services, surgical care, as well as 24 hour emergency treatments”. The only farm call in this ring that comes attached to a 24-hour line.

The widest species list in the ring drives out too. Their specialty page: “Our large animal services at Shawnee Animal Hospital include shockwave therapy, farm calls, large animal wellness care, including dentistry, wellness exams, and equine farrier, as well as herd health consultation and breed and reproductive care.” Farm calls, in their own word, with no mileage ring or client rule hung on it.

How this page was made
Checked 9 August 2026 · 9 practicesTheir site or nothing
Every name, number, address, hour and overnight claim on this page was read off the practice's own website on 9 August 2026. No Yelp, no map cards, no directory scrapes. Where a practice does not publish a thing — Oakridge's street address, Copper Trail's — the line says so instead of filling it in.
Lanes are claims, not guesses
A practice is in the large-animal, poultry, goat or farm-call lane because its own site says it treats those animals or drives out. Copper Trail names goats and sheep in writing and never once mentions poultry, so it sits in the goat half of lane three and not the bird half. That is the whole method.
No status lights, no stars
Hours are quoted, never rendered as “open now” — the day a clinic closes early is exactly the day a status light gets you hurt on the drive. No ratings, no reviews, no sponsored placements, no affiliate links. Order is by lane and species, then alphabetical.
