Three miniature goat kids in a farmyard at golden hour
AISLE 03 Nigerian Dwarfs, Pygmies & the fencing · 36 things

Goat
Rodeo

They will stand on your truck. They will find the one loose panel in a hundred feet of fence, and they will find it at 6am on a Saturday. Buy the fencing first. Everything else on this aisle is easier than admitting that.

Fencing & panels

Aisle one for a reason

The 16-foot
cattle panel

$32 DIRECT · FEED STORE

Not field fence. Not welded wire. A rigid 16-foot panel with 4×4 openings, wired to t-posts every four feet. A Nigerian Dwarf goes through field fence like it's a suggestion and gets her head stuck in 6×6. This is the answer, it costs thirty-two dollars, and it will outlive the goat.

What it beat

$400 of field fence, which lasted nine days before somebody was in the driveway.

What it doesn't fix

Climbing. Nothing on earth fixes climbing. Move what they climb.

T-POSTS
T-posts, 6 ft, each
$7

Buy four more than you measured for. You always do.

HOT WIRE KIT
Solar hot-wire kit
$89

One strand at nose height. They test it once and remember forever.

GATE
4-ft walk gate
$68

Latch on the outside. This is not a small detail.

FENCE PLIERS
Fence pliers
$24

Lives in the truck. You will use it more than any other tool here.

A short and honest warning

Anything you leave in the pen is now a jungle gym.

The truck. The mower. The stack of pallets you meant to move. A goat's entire theory of the world is that the high place is better than the low place, and she is going to test that theory against your paint. This is not a training problem and there is nothing on this page that fixes it. Park somewhere else.

Feeders & hay racks

Off the ground or it's bedding

The pick

Wall-mount
hay rack

$46 pays for itself in wasted hay

Hay on the ground gets stood in, slept in, and then refused. A rack at shoulder height cuts your waste by better than half and keeps the worm load down at the same time. Mount it high enough that a kid can't climb in and get stuck, which they will otherwise try.

The rest of the shelf
Loose goat mineral, 25 lb

Loose, not a block. Goat tongues aren't built for blocks.

$26
Covered mineral feeder

Keeps rain out. Wet mineral turns into a brick nobody touches.

$19
Bucket hanger, over-panel

Because a bucket on the ground is a bucket on its side.

$9
Browse block

A treat, not a feed. Good for the twenty minutes you need them busy.

$14
Four more, including the creep feeder for kids. See all 8 →

Hoof & health

Tools only — no medicine, ask your vet
HOOF SHEARS
Orange-handle hoof shears
$24

Every six to eight weeks, whether you feel like it or not. The orange ones are orange so you can find them in the hay.

STAND
Milking & trim stand
$139

Expensive, and the one thing here that turns a two-person wrestling match into a ten-minute job you do alone.

COLLAR
Breakaway goat collar
$11

Breakaway, always. A fixed collar on a climbing animal is how you lose one.

Shelter & bedding

Three sides and a dry floor
Pine shavings, compressed

Not cedar. Cedar oil and small lungs don't get along.

$8
Stall mat, 4×6 rubber

Heavy enough that two people carry it. Worth every one of those pounds.

$58
Heat-lamp guard cage

Barn fires start with an unguarded bulb and a curious goat. Buy the cage.

$16
Calf hutch, used

The cheapest real shelter there is. Check the dairy sale barn first.

$95

Ours —
the tooled panel

Goat Rodeo got the leather treatment: floral tooling, a hay bale, and three animals doing exactly what goats do. Small runs, and when they're gone we cut a new plate.

Porch Dog Supply goods — tooled phone case, printed blanket, wood sign and tile
Tooled-panel phone case
$34

The whole tooling scene wrapped on a hard shell. Turquoise on the collars is the only color on it.

Where the money goes

Everything else on this page is somebody else's product we happen to trust, and we make nothing when you buy it. These three are ours. That's the entire difference.
