In here because the practice's own website says it treats cattle, horses, sheep or goats. A clinic that only mentions dogs and cats is not in this lane no matter how good it is — and three of the four numbers up in the dark band are exactly that, so they are not down here.
The site's own summary of itself: “Mixed Animal Practice, Small Animal, Equine, Exotic, Small Ruminant”. It runs three mobile units and says “We currently serve Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Spenser, Shelby, and Nelson counties in Kentucky as well as Southern Indiana for routine visits.” Small ruminant is the category goats live in, and the site never writes the word — so it stays out of the goat lane.

“…a full-service veterinary medical facility equipped to treat companion animals, livestock and horses, as well as exotics.” Livestock and horses put it in this lane; there is no farm-call claim anywhere on the site, so it is not in that one. Bardstown, forty minutes south of the city — the long end of this ring.

Katie Jackson, DVM. The services page names them outright — “Llamas and Alpacas” and “Sheep & Goats” — and the small-animal work is held to working Livestock Guardian Dogs. On everything else, under the heading “Cattle, pig, & poultry”, the page says only “Limited services available for other species.”

Horses, and the work goes to the horse: the site offers “advanced equine reproductive services at your farm” and lists “stall-side gastroscopy” among its diagnostics. Only a PO box is published, no clinic to haul into. After hours it hands the phone over — “Our emergency care is provided by Bluegrass Equine Emergency Service.”

They send their own small-animal emergencies to Metropolitan, which is the first number in the dark band above.

“Full service mixed animal veterinary clinic”, and under Large Animal & Livestock: “Full-service care for horses, cattle, and farm animals across central Kentucky.” Goats, sheep and chickens are not named, and neither are farm calls, so this is the only lane it sits in. The site does say “After-hours availability for established clients” — their clients, no hours attached, which is not the overnight lane.

The hardest lane to fill honestly. A practice is in here only if its own site names chickens, goats or both. “Exotics” alone does not count, “small ruminant” does not count, and neither does a photo of a hen.
The one practice in this ring that writes the word. Under Small Ruminant & Camelid Services the site lists “Sheep & Goats: Parasite treatment & prevention plans” and “Ultrasound for pregnancy”, with breeding soundness exams and embryo transfer marked “Coming soon”. Chickens are a thinner claim and we print it thin: under “Cattle, pig, & poultry” the page says only “Limited services available for other species.”

CHICKENS, PLAINLY CLAIMED — NONE
Ten practices walked in this ring, and not one of them puts chickens on its own website as work it plainly does. The nearest thing is the “Limited services available for other species” line above, filed under cattle, pigs and poultry, which is a maybe and we are printing it as a maybe. Bannon Woods comes close on the goat side with “Small Ruminant” in its own summary of itself — and we are still not counting it, because a category is not a species and you would be driving to Fairdale on our guess instead of their word.
That is the whole finding for this ring. We are not padding the lane and we are not deleting the section. If you keep a flock near Louisville, take the mixed practices in the lane above, call them in daylight and ask them straight — then you will know, which is more than this page can tell you today.
Farm call
They come to you, and their own site says so. Where the site draws a line around it — a list of counties, a client-only rule, a preference for hauling in — the line is printed with the listing instead of being smoothed over.
“With Three mobile units, Bannon Woods Veterinary Hospital offers a variety of services on the farm.” The routine round has a county line on it — “We currently serve Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Spenser, Shelby, and Nelson counties in Kentucky as well as Southern Indiana for routine visits” — and the after-hours round has a tighter one: “Due to the large coverage area that we serve we can only guarantee after hours emergency farm call service for Jefferson, Shelby and Oldham counties.” Nights, the call may be answered by Bluegrass Equine instead.

Every name, number, address, hour and overnight claim on this page was read off the practice's own website on 9 August 2026. No Yelp, no map cards, no directory scrapes. Three of these outfits publish no street address at all — only a PO box in Prospect or a town and a zip in Salvisa — so the line says the town and stops there instead of filling one in.
Lanes are claims, not guesses
A practice is in the large-animal, goat or farm-call lane because its own site says it treats those animals or drives out. Bannon Woods calls itself a small-ruminant practice and never writes “goats”, so it is not in the goat lane. Central Kentucky Animal Clinic sees livestock and never mentions farm calls, so it is not in that one. That is the whole method.
No status lights, no stars
Hours are quoted, never rendered as “open now” — the day a clinic closes early is exactly the day a status light gets you killed on the drive. No ratings, no reviews, no sponsored placements, no affiliate links. Order is by lane and species, then alphabetical.
