Vets near Dallas–Fort Worth

Eleven practices, every one of them read off its own website. Five of them say in their own words that somebody is there overnight — three for dogs and cats, two for horses. Everything else on this page is daylight work and waits under it.

If it's an emergency, call before you drive.

Large animal & mixed practice

Eight in this ring

In here because the practice's own website says it treats cattle, horses, sheep or goats. A clinic that only mentions dogs and cats is not in this lane no matter how good it is.

Farm-animal care in Wise County. “Since cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and other herd animals are by nature more prone to exposure and disease, it is important for us to have an understanding of the environment.” The site never says they drive out, so they are not in the farm-call lane.

Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery (ESMS) — Weatherford
Weatherford, TX · street address not published

Equine practice. The Weatherford location lists “Ambulatory/Field Services”, “Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation”, “Surgery”, “Emergency Care”, “Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy” and “Intensive Care”. Their intensive-care unit is described as staffed around the clock — that is an ICU staffing line, not a 24-hour intake claim, so they are not in the overnight lane above.

Hours are not published on their site.

The other half of the same errand

The vet is one number. The farm you're hauling to is in the Almanac.

Tramel Farms keeps the sister book — the working farms, stands and homesteads on this same North Texas ring. Same rule about not making things up, different page. The farms near Dallas–Fort Worth keep this book honest: they are the people who call these numbers at two in the morning, and they are the first to tell us when one has changed.

SAME RING · SAME COUNTIES · DIFFERENT BOOK

Poultry & goats

Five in this ring · goats only

The hardest lane to fill honestly. A practice is in here only if its own site names chickens, goats or both. “Exotics” alone does not count, and neither does a photo of a hen.

POULTRY, SPECIFICALLY — NONE

Five practices in this ring put goats in writing. Not one of them says chicken, hen, poultry or bird anywhere on its own site — not on a services page, not in a species list. So the lane is half a lane, and we are saying so rather than stretching “most livestock” to cover the coop. If you keep birds around Fort Worth and you know a vet who sees them, that is a gap in this book we would rather fix than paper over.

Farm call

Four in this ring · one of them qualified

They come to you, and their own site says so. Where the site puts a limit on it — a county line, a mileage ring, a preference for hauling in — the limit is printed with the listing instead of being smoothed over.

How this page was made

Checked 9 August 2026 · 11 practices
01

Their site or nothing

Every name, number, address, hour and overnight claim on this page was read off the practice's own website on 9 August 2026. No Yelp, no map cards, no directory scrapes. Where a practice does not publish a thing — the Weatherford equine hospital's street address and hours, for two — the line says so instead of filling in.

02

Lanes are claims, not guesses

A practice is in the large-animal, goat or farm-call lane because its own site says it treats those animals or drives out. Thompson names goats but says plainly it can't make farm or house calls right now, so it is not in that lane. That is the whole method.

03

No status lights, no stars

Hours are quoted, never rendered as “open now” — the day a clinic closes early is exactly the day a status light gets you killed on the drive. No ratings, no reviews, no sponsored placements, no affiliate links. Order is by lane and species, then alphabetical.
