Vets near Atlanta

Eleven practices, every one of them read off its own website. The five below say on their own site that somebody is there overnight — three for dogs and cats, two for horses and livestock. Everything else on this page is daylight work and waits under it.

If it's an emergency, call before you drive.

24/7 LARGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL

TWO LINES, AND THE BIG ONE IS THE FARM LINEThe number above is the large animal line — their page marks it “Horses, Cattle, Farm Animals.” There's a separate small animal line, (706) 542-3221, for “Cats, Dogs, Exotics, Wildlife” — and the 24-hour sentence on that page is made for the large animal hospital, not for it. Athens is a drive from most of this ring; call before you load.

Large animal
& mixed practice

Six in this ring

In here because the practice's own website says it treats cattle, horses, sheep or goats. A clinic that only mentions dogs and cats is not in this lane no matter how good it is.

Barnesville Animal Clinic

Mixed practice an hour south of the city. The farm page names the stock plainly — “Horses, Cattle/Cows, Sheep, Donkeys, Goats, Pigs, Chickens, Ducks” — which is the longest species list anybody in this ring puts in writing.

The other half of the same errand

The farms near Atlanta keep this book honest.

Tramel Farms keeps the sister book — the working farms, stands and homesteads on this same ring, from the north Georgia mountains down through the Piedmont. Same rule about not making things up, different page. The people who raise the animals on this page are the ones who tell us when a number stops working.

Poultry
& goats

Four in this ring

The hardest lane to fill honestly. A practice is in here only if its own site names chickens, goats or both. “Exotics” alone does not count, and neither does a photo of a hen.

01
AnimALL Mobile Veterinary Service
Alpharetta, GA · no street address published

A fully mobile house-call practice north of the city, and the only one in this ring built around backyard birds: chickens get their own service list — exams, nutrition and husbandry, parasite control, diagnostics, sick and injured birds, vaccinations. Birds only. Nothing on the site claims goats, livestock or a farm call, so it sits in this lane and no other.

BOTH BIRDS AND GOATS — TWO

Four practices in this ring name one or the other on their own site. Three name goats — Barnesville, Ridge and River, Windward. Three name poultry — AnimALL, Barnesville, Windward. Only Barnesville and Windward name both, so if you keep a flock and a couple of does on the same place, that is your list. We are not going to pad it by counting a clinic that says “exotics” and hopes you'll read chickens into it.

Farm call

Six in this ring · two of them qualified

They come to you, and their own site says so. Where the site puts a limit on it — a mileage ring, a routine-visits-only rule, a preference for hauling in — the limit is printed with the listing instead of being smoothed over.

How this page was made

Checked 9 August 2026 · 11 practices
01

Their site or nothing

Every name, number, address, hour and overnight claim on this page was read off the practice's own website on 9 August 2026. No Yelp, no map cards, no directory scrapes. Where a practice does not publish a thing — AnimALL's street address, for one, because there isn't a building — the line says so instead of filling in.

02

Lanes are claims, not guesses

A practice is in the large-animal, poultry, goat or farm-call lane because its own site says it treats those animals or drives out. Ridge and River keeps a goat page and no bird page, so it is in the goat half of lane three and not the bird half. That is the whole method.

03

No status lights, no stars

Hours are quoted, never rendered as “open now” — Sandy Springs is shut Tuesday and Wednesday daytime, and that is exactly the day a status light gets you killed on the drive. No ratings, no reviews, no sponsored placements, no affiliate links. Order is by lane and species, then alphabetical.
